... Valentine's Day is the 2nd biggest card sending out vacation of the year, 2nd just to Christmas?
From that day onwards 14th February is remembered as the day that marks eternality of the bond of love and the spirits of all the true fans.
The earliest known valentine gift still around today was a poem written by Charles, Duke of Orleans to his partner while he was locked up in the Tower of London. The welcoming, written in 1415, belongs to the manuscript collection of the British Library in London, England. According to the Greeting Card Association, an estimated one billion valentine cards are sent out each year, making Valentine's Day the second biggest card-sending vacation of the year. (An estimated 2.6 billion cards are sent out for Christmas.) The first business Valentine's Day greeting cards produced in the U.S. were developed in the 1840s by Esther A. Howland. Howland, referred to as the Mother of the Valentine, made fancy creations with genuine lace, ribbons and colorful images referred to as "scrap".
Saint Valentine who had throughout his life emerged the sensation of love by tying nuptial bonds opposed the king's directions. He decided to penalize saint Valentine by putting him to death on 14th February.
Whatever your Valentine's present to get or give, have a good time this holiday of love - may this bit of history contribute to your satisfaction!
